3 Guianas Tour

Day 1

Arrive Georgetown, Capital City of South America's only English speaking country. Transfer to Le Meridien Pegasus for overnight stay.

Day 2

This morning will see the first of several early morning starts as you set out by road to the Corentyne River which forms the border between Guyana and Suriname. You will pass through the mainly agricultural areas crossing the Berbice River also by ferry before arriving at Moleson Creek where you will join the second ferry to cross to Southdrain on the Suriname border. You continue on to Paramaribo where upon arriving you will check in to Hotel Eco Resort. After a short tour of historical Paramaribo, dinner will be at an Indonesian restaurant. B.L.D

Day 3

Today you are taken on a day tour of Brownsberg which includes stops at Afobaka Weir and visits to Mazaruni and Irene Waterfalls. Your guide will be giving you some insight about the various bits of flora and fauna as you encounter them. Return to Hotel Eco Resort for overnight stay. B.L.D

Day 4

An AR 44LP version of the Ariane 4 climbs away from the ELA-2 launch zone at Europe’s Spaceport.  This launcher configuration has two solid propellant strap-on boosters and two liquid propellant strap-ons installed around the first stage for additional thrust during the ascent.This morning you will transfer to Albina where once again there is another ferry crossing to be made. Arriving in St. Laurent, you will be given a short tour before proceeding to Kourou where you will have lunch after which you are taken on a tour of the Ariane Space Center. You spend the night at Hotel Des Roches. B.L.D

Day 5

Today a tour of Devil's Island made popular by the movie Papillon. Returning during the late afternoon you then continue on to Cayenne where your stay tonight will be at Hotel Amazonia. B.L.D

Day 6

This morning you are given a short tour of Cayenne and a visit to Montjoly Beach before making your way to Rochambeau Airport for your flight to Guyana. Upon arrival in Guyana, you are taken to Timberhead Rainforest Resort in the Kamuni Creek which runs through the Amerindian Village of Santa Mission founded in 1848 by Anglican Missionaries. Here you may choose to relax in the quiet beauty that is Timberhead or enjoy some of the activities of the resort which will include swimming, canoeing and at night looking for the caiman and the night lilies. Day 7

Today you are taken to Sand Hills where you will be met by a 4x4 vehicle for an exciting ride through the rainforest on to Shanklands which is a resort located on the Esseqibo River. Being on a hilltop the views can only be described as breathtaking. Once again you are able to enjoy some of the many activities of the resort before turning in for a good nights rest. B.L.D.

Day 8

You are now treated to a boat ride on the Essequibo River which is the third largest in the world on the way to Baganara Island Resort. Here you will find a house that brings back some of the opulence of the bygone days of colonialism. Once again the opportunity to enjoy the resort activities can be had. For the more adventurous Jetskis are available at an additional cost. B.L.D

Day 9

Today an aircraft will pick you up at Baganara for you day tour of Kaieteur and Orinduik waterfalls. The wonder that is Kaieteur thundering over the precipice to plummet 741 feet straight down making it the longest single drop waterfall in the world. After viewing the waterfall from 4 different vantage points you fly on to Orinduik waterfalls where the first thing you will notice is the change of terrain from rainforest to savannah. Here you have lunch and afterwards a dip in the water weather permitting will always be a refreshing way to end the tour before returning to Georgetown. B.L.D

 

Day 10

This morning you transfer to the International Airport for you flight home after what would have been an experience of three very different cultures that should leave you with very fond memories of "the other" South America. B.L.D
