The grandeur of the Kaieteur Falls can be reached after a one hour and ten
minute scenic flight over prime rainforest and magnificent rivers. Situated
on the Potaro River the falls boast a single drop of 741 ft - five times the height of Niagara. It is indeed one of the Wonders of the World! |
Guests are taken on a rainforest trek where your guide will provide
information about the unique flora and fauna which exists in abundance. This includes the rare Cock of the Rock bird - a
brilliant orange marvel - and the tiny Golden Frogs that live in the largest Bromeliad in the
world, the Tank Bromeliad. You will be
taken to Johnson's Point which affords the best photo opportunities and then to the top of the falls where it is
possible to dip your toes into the water. We depart Kaieteur Falls for a 25 minutes flight over the green rainforest which
suddenly gives way to savannah and rolling hills before we arrive at Orinduik Falls on the Ireng River. The Ireng forms the
border with Brazil. Here a picnic lunch is served beneath a tropical native palm hut. Enjoy a refreshing dip or an
unforgettable water massage with the breathtaking backdrop of the grass covered Pakaraima Mountains which were the inspiration for Conan Doyle's Lost World.
