KARANAMBO RANCHKARANAMBO RANCH is located in the north Rupununi between the Pakaraima and Kanuku Mountains . The ranch has a community feeling with accommodation in individual palm thatched twin bedded huts shaded by huge mango trees. Each has a bathroom and a verandah. Enjoy your delicious meals of local fare and international favorites in a family type atmosphere in the open hammock-swagged living room of the main house.
Activities include: Rewarding fishing on the river (including Peacock Bass) or try Simoni Pond, arguably Guyana's best inland fishing. DADANAWA RANCHDADANAWA, Guyana's largest working cattle ranch, covers 2,000 miles of the southern Rupununi and enjoys a wonderful vista of the Kanuku Mountains. The hardy barefoot vacqueros, the several Amerindian villages on the ranch and the other personalities of Dadanawa make this Guyanese Wild West experience a unique one. The ranch and bunk houses are built on stilts and offer fabulous views of this big sky land and the distant mountains. IWOKRAMA INTERNATIONAL RAIN FOREST PROGRAMMEThe Government of Guyana has allocated 360,000 hectares of pristine rain forest in central Guyana for the Iwokrama Programme which was launched in 1990. This unique enterprise has the following mission statement - "To demonstrate that tropical rain forests can be both conserved and equitably utilized yielding ecological, economic and social benefits to the people of Guyana and the international community".
